How Inkjet Portable Printer Works

Piezoelectric Material

Ink Cartridges

A portable printer uses ink cartridges to print images, and color and black-and-white ink cartridges are different from those used in printers using the other two types. While color ink cartridges can be purchased from the manufacturer of the printer, they are often cheaper. It's also possible to purchase monochrome cartridges from third-party suppliers. The latter is used in competition with silver-based photographic papers and provides the same tonal range. However, changing from full-color to monochrome ink sets requires flushing the print head with a cleaning cartridge. The process may require additional software, as some printers will not allow you to print from color to black.

The printhead may last for up to 8 full cartridge changes, or until it needs replacement.
